On the evening of November 29, 2024, an e-scooter caught fire in the basement of an apartment building in Klagenfurt around 9:15 p.m. The Klagenfurt fire brigade was alerted and quickly arrived on the scene and first evacuated all residents of the house.
The fire was extinguished within a short time and the tenants were able to return to their apartments that same evening.
According to initial investigations, the fire brigade assumes that a defective battery caused the fire. The damage to the e-scooter amounts to several hundred euros. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
