At around 1 am, the 40-year-old drove away from a hut and a street in Ubelbach (Graz-Environs district). The car came to a stop after about 200 meters and the driver may have been thrown from the vehicle.

A 42-year-old neighbor who just before the 40-year-old drove away from the cabin noticed that the man was not following and turned his car around, saw the lights of the vehicle, alerted emergency services and found the accident victim lying in a meadow in front.

Life-threatening injuries
The 40-year-old received first aid from the emergency doctor and was taken to the rescue vehicle by the fire service. He suffered life-threatening injuries in the accident and is in UKH Graz. Police said the injured man was heavily intoxicated. The Übelbach volunteer fire brigade was on site with 17 emergency services and was unable to remove the car from the accident site at night due to the weather conditions.
