Nuns who get a brothel. A “Sandler King” that leaves a fortune. The Viennese heir researcher Nicolas Forster has made many people rich – and now wrote a book.
What does a genealogist do? The correct answer to the “Million Show” would be: ancestral research. He browses to archives to analyze family stories. And it’s best to start with his own …
It started with the uropa that went to Brazil
Nicolas Forster was born in Vienna in 1976. Some ancestors come from South America. But it all started with his big grandfather in Pola. This was a Navy captain at the Kuk -army. The ship, the “Szent István”, was sunk in 1918 by Torpedos. The soldier survived, but was confronted with his existence. Out of desperation, he decided to emigrate to Brazil, where farmers from Tyrol found a new home in the village of Thirtehnlinden. One of his sons, Grandpa, was murdered in an expedition in the jungle. “My mother,” says Forster, “you brought back to Vienna.” Where he finally saw the daylight.
Klein Nicolas was placed in the cradle of interest in the (own) story. He became a historian and lawyer.
Inheritance research as a golden vein
As a freshly baked academic, he founded the Historician Cup in Vienna in 2004, which specialized in family trees. So he came over the rounds – until he pushed a gold charger. No heirs are known in 0.7 percent of all legislation. After the first request from a notary, the law firm started investigating himself in such cases.
The team has been able to find 60,000 inheritance so far before the money had fallen to the state due to the lack of a will. “If an inheritance is paid, an agreed percentage share is entitled to us as a compensation.”
After 20 years of work, the eloquent Viennese have many delicacies ready. His most exciting episodes were now in the book “Heirs Searched!” included.
The “Sandler King”: This is, for example, the case of the Poland Piotr, which reads like a fairy tale: there was once a “Sandler King” in the English Wolverhampton. He lived in a tent on a traffic island. When the “Ring Road Tramp” blessed in 2007 at the age of 86, the authorities came across a big pension account. The team was able to detect three nieces and cousins in Croatia, which, given the sudden escape lower roads, could hardly believe their happiness by the unknown uncle.
The nun and the brothel: The history of a brothel operator in Feldbach (Styria), who supposedly died childless, also made the headlines. Forster discovered that the lady had previously moved through Europe with a circus and had released a baby for adoption in Aberdeen (Scotland). The historian flipped through the daughter – she lived as a nun in the monastery there! The woman of the woman sold the sinful establishment with 144,000 euros and left it after her order.
Forster goes from the home office in his house in Döling to the terrace and lets the spring sun shine in the face. Inside you can hear his wife Claudia play piano. She leads a dental practice in the neighborhood, on Dornbacher Strasse. Forster looks over the vineyards and becomes briefly sentimental: “My father died during the production of the book.”
Run to big money
His mobile phone herbs suddenly heralds. A partner office has an application. “What?” He knew on the phone, “It’s about a home in Monaco, several million euros?” The grief quickly disappeared. He comes across the computer, wants to buy tickets immediately. The competition is not sleeping! The race for big money, it started again.
Will Forster win him this time? In any case, he would have the experience by his side.
