“Operation until the end” – Kreml announces: “Liberated course from Ukrainians”

Date:

The Kremlin recently announced the “liberation” of the Kursk area of Ukrainian troops. General staff chef Waleri Gerassimow said President Vladimir Putin about the end of the operation, Kremllager Dmitri Peskow explained.

“The dismantling of the armed formations of the Ukrainian armed forces that have received the Kursk region has been completed. The plans of the KIV regime to create a so -called strategic bridgehead and to disrupt our offensive in Donbass failed,” said Gerassimow.

Ukrainian army speaks of “propaganda tricks”
The Ukrainian army rejected Russian information. The operational situation is “difficult”, but the Ukrainian units would retain their functions, said the Ukrainian General Staff on Saturday. Russian statements about a “defeat” of the Ukrainian soldiers are nothing more than “propaganda tricks”, the fighting in the border region continued.

Russia had always mentioned the recapture of the Kursk region as a condition for going into negotiations on peace with Ukraine. Despite the recently extensive withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Russian region of Kursk, President Wolodyymyr Senskyj always saw the advance as a success. “It is absolutely fair to move the war to where it comes from,” he said repeatedly. This was controversial among experts because the country missed resources elsewhere.

1300 square kilometers were under Ukrainian control
Last summer, the Ukrainian troops quickly brought around 1,300 square kilometers of Russian territory under control. The rapid progress increased the mood in Ukraine. But Kiev’s hope was not fulfilled that the area that was occupied in peace negotiations was not fulfilled. According to independent Ukrainian military experts, both parties suffered high losses in a comparable way, which weighs heavier for the Ukrainians than for the Russians.
