Summer balance – Jesolo: record season, 21% of guests from Austria

Date:

The holiday resort of Jesolo draws a positive balance from the summer season. The tourist office of the seaside resort on the Adriatic reported results that are better than in 2019, the year before the pandemic. Overall, average hotel occupancy from May to the end of August was 75.4 percent with weekends sold out in mid-summer, compared to 68.5 percent in 2021 and 68.2 percent in 2020, according to hoteliers association AJA.

Among foreigners in Jesolo, the proportion of German-speaking guests is 45.4 percent, 21.1 percent from Austria, 18.1 percent from Germany and 6.2 percent from Switzerland. In addition, 11.6 percent come almost exclusively from Eastern Europe.

program in the fall
“The figures from the end of August confirm the good forecasts and market analyses. For the month of September, it is still too early to make assessments that depend solely on the weather. The rich sports program in September and October, as well as the numerous concerts, will ensure that Jesolo remains in the spotlight, with a positive impact on bookings,” said Pierfrancesco Contarini, president of Aja.

Expensive electricity bills depress the good mood
However, what weighs on the good seasonal development are the expensive electricity bills, which threaten to endanger even the extension of the season, because in addition to the number of visitors, costs have also risen to record levels. “Many colleagues could be forced to not open in the low season due to the high costs,” Contarini complained.
