Black Friday is traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year in the United States. Meanwhile, customers are storming our stores en masse and letting the internet connections glow. Promising discounts are meant to whet the appetite for the upcoming Christmas business. It’s that time again next Friday. And so that the weekend shopping does not come to an abrupt end, the retailers also add Cyber Monday. According to the survey, an average of EUR 297 per capita is invested on these shopping days. Carinthia is at the forefront of this assessment: every buyer here is even willing to spend 357 euros.
The cash registers have been ringing all week
Meanwhile, there is also the Black Friday weekend and the Black Friday week. Every day more makes the cash register ring loudly. “The best deals are made online on Thursdays after 7 pm,” reveals Hannes Majdic of electronic4you. His company in Klagenfurt makes a turnover of 20 million euros on a black Friday, or almost one sixth of the annual turnover.
Television very popular
“Televisions are the big hit this year,” says Majdic. “After the record profits for Corona, there is actually a slump in TV sets of up to 25 percent.” Preparations for Black Friday have been going on for weeks. Majdic: “We currently have an 18-hour working day.”
Electronics giant continues to expand
After all, the company from Klagenfurt competes directly with large, established retail chains. And Majdic apparently succeeds in asserting itself in the market. He is working on expansion plans because the logistics area needs to be expanded: “We have already found two large buildings in Klagenfurt that correspond to our adjustments. A decision will be made soon.”
But it’s not just booming in the electronics store. Other industries also caused prices to tumble on Black Friday and the hearts of bargain hunters beat faster.
