Fifteen years ago, a group of professionals, made up of operators with some experience in the mechanical sector such as milling and turning, and motivated by their concerns, founded the company Mecanizados del Segura with the aim of consolidating a company specialized in machining pieces .
A project from Murcia that took its first steps in a small warehouse in Alguazas. “There we installed the first machines that we managed ourselves,” recalled the company’s managers, Cristóbal González and Francisco Longinos.
Since its foundation «we bet on numerical control machines and the integration of new technologies. Our goal was to be able to cover every machining project,” they explain. The impulse and perseverance led them to move in 2016 to larger warehouses in Las Torres de Cotillas.
Then, in 2018, the company sought advice to continue its expansion and found the services of Aválam, the Mutual Guarantee Company of the Region of Murcia.
Since the company joined the social mass of Aválam, we have not stopped growing. During these four years, we have received funding for three different projects at no cost,” they emphasize. In addition, thanks to the support of the Region’s mutual guarantee society, “our financial resources are protected”.
Among the steps taken by this company since its foundation, the expansion of its machine park stands out, “a progress in which we have the support of Aválam”. In addition to an economic boost, the entity also keeps them informed about the services or subsidies that can help them develop their activity.
Mecanizados del Segura is one of the companies that has helped Aválam grow, an entity that celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. In its four-decade history, the Region’s mutual insurance association has granted 23,000 guarantees to SMEs and the self-employed and invested more than 1,000 million euros in the business sector.
In the workshop of Mecanizados del Segura they manufacture numerous types of parts for every sector and industrial activity, using conventional machines and numerical control machines.
According to the plan and sample of the piece requested by the customer, they make their products with all kinds of materials – stainless steel, bronze, aluminum, iron, etc. – adapted to specific needs. Likewise, they machine both unitary and serial parts. Its services include turning, milling and cutting.
Orders are increasing exponentially year after year, “which means we can invest in research into new machines that are more efficient and productive.” All this also translates “in an increase in our workforce, made up of great professionals who are part of our success.”
The managers of Mecanizados del Segura confirm that their biggest milestone “has been to gain a significant foothold in the machining sector in the Region of Murcia, where we are facing competitors with great experience: in just 15 years we have we managed to establish Mecanizados del Segura Segura, a consolidated and benchmark company in the province.
Mecanizados del Segura remains committed to renewing its machines and incorporating the most efficient technology. In this way, “we always offer our customers the best product, with competitive prices and adapted to the current needs of the market,” say the company’s managers.
