Lower Austria wants to become the start-up country in the future. The industry’s focus is on the future fields of recycling management, agricultural technology, and aerospace.
Today’s start-ups are tomorrow’s leading companies. The vast country boasts the highest growth of start-ups in all of Austria in the past five years. But that’s not all: “Lower Austria must become the number one start-up country. We have set ourselves the goal of having 250 start-ups by 2030. That is 1,000 jobs with a future,” says Minister of Economic Affairs Jochen Danninger: The task now is to encourage even more people to take the step towards self-employment.
Because it shows that “young companies guided on their path to entrepreneurship by the state’s own start-up services accent are growing above average with eight jobs,” says Michael Ploder of Joanneum Research. In addition to patent research and financing opportunities through tecnet equity and IST Cube, the aim is to score points in the future with industry focus in the areas of recycling management, agricultural technology and aerospace.

Local biotechnology company Lignovations, based in Tulln, is already on its way to success. “With the Start-up World Cup Austria award, we are among the best start-ups in Austria,” says Martin Miltner. Co-founder Victor Tibo even made it to the top 30 young entrepreneurs in the Forbes ranking.
