Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates joins Heineken. According to “Forbes”, the third richest person in the world with an estimated net worth of USD 106 billion acquired 10.8 million shares in Heineken Holding worth EUR 883 million on February 17.
This corresponds to a share of 3.76 percent, according to a statement from the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). The shares have therefore been bought by the Mexican group Femsa, which is in the process of splitting off from its interest in the Dutch brewery group.
Heineken Holding is the largest shareholder of brewing giant Heineken. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the charitable foundation owned by the billionaire and his ex-wife, was not immediately available for comment.
