The well-known food delivery man Mjam withdraws from Austria. As announced on Tuesday, the delivery service’s green-clad couriers will make way for foodora-branded couriers dressed in pink from May.
“As part of the Delivery Hero Group, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and we in Austria will start under a common strong brand!” explains Managing Director Herbert Haas.
According to Haas, food delivery, grocery delivery and an Austria-wide pharmacy would remain the cornerstones of the business. The current Mjam services will be taken over and new services will even be added: Foodora PRO, for example, offers a subscription service that offers customers free or heavily discounted deliveries and special offers, among other things.
Facelift for app, more pay for suppliers
The app is also undergoing a facelift. In fact, only the color and name change for customers. According to Haas, saved restaurants, orders or vouchers would be retained. Improvements for the 2,600 employees are also announced. A bicycle courier should receive 4.40 euros per delivery in the future, it is said.
