Furniture chain Kika/Leiner is due for restructuring. Owner Hermann Wieser wants to file for insolvency proceedings next week so the company can recover. Kika/Leiner’s properties, on the other hand, belong to the Graz Supernova Group since last week, boss Frank Albert explains his plans in the “Krone” interview.
After the sale of the operational company by Signa to ex-Kika manager Hermann Wieser, he now wants to file for bankruptcy next week and thus restructure the company. This ensures continuity. The announced measures (reduction of 1,900 employees and closure of 23 stores) will be implemented as planned as part of the restructuring process.
At the same time, the new owner of the Kika/Leiner building has its own plans. The Supernova Group, which includes retail locations and retail parks at home and abroad, wants to “sell each home individually, so we’re starting today,” says boss Frank Albert. The boss of Supernova in an interview:
