Also online shop – in principle! Fashion brand boycotts Black Friday

Date:

“Are you crazy?” Michaela Geiseder and Klaus Buchroithner have already been asked this by marketing managers, to whom they revealed: We are closed on Black Friday. Yet the bosses of the fashion brand Vresh will not be deterred from their path. Even the online shop remains closed for 24 hours.

“We want to offer a fair price not only on one day, but all year round – for our customers and seamstresses,” wrote Michaela Geiseder and Klaus Buchroithner in their current newsletter, letting their customers know: “No Black Friday we. ”

The sustainable fashion brand Vresh, run by the two, is taking a path without compromises: not only the store in the Tabakfabrik in Linz is closed today, the online store is also closed for 24 hours. Linzer shirts and the like are therefore not available on Black Friday. This is the third time the Vresh bosses have resorted to this drastic measure. “For me it is a matter of principle,” says Geiseder.

“With us, consumers can save 100 percent”
“Black Friday is crazy to me. It is an artificially created consumption day. One day stretches into a month or more. There are thousands of promotions, always somehow more, cheaper, the main thing is to buy,” says the 30-year-old angrily, who has already received a surprised shake of the head from marketing managers: “If you are someone from e-commerce world that we are closed, they say: ‘Are you crazy? You can’t do that.'” And yet they can! “We want consumers to make conscious purchasing decisions. With us you can save 100 percent because you don’t buy anything.”
