According to the price comparison platform geizhals.at, household appliances became more expensive last year. Cleaning robots increased in price by 14 percent, washing machines by 11 percent and refrigerators and freezers by 9 percent. On average, you had to pay 12 percent more for power banks last year than in 2022.
“Two product categories that were in high demand remained virtually unchanged in price in 2023. After many years of rising prices, smartphone prices have finally almost stabilized at 1.61 percent. Televisions even became 0.92 percent cheaper on average,” geizhals.at analyzes.
Falling prices were also observed in some other product categories. Headphones and headsets were 2.28 percent cheaper in the past calendar year, tablets by 12.05 percent and SSD hard drives by as much as 34 percent. Annual inflation was 7.8 percent in 2023.
