New details announced – a lot of criticism after expensive celebration of the Chamber of Commerce

Date:

A day after the revelations about the expensive celebration of the Chamber of Commerce, the NEOS, the FPÖ and the SPÖ came under criticism. Explosive details have become known in the commemorative publication of 18,600 euros at the farewell of the former chamber president.

Reports from the “Krone” and the “Standard” about a celebration of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce caused a stampede in the press and sobering insights. The membership fee of 54,000 euros went to the farewell party of former president Sonja Zwazl. The criticism in the test report causes a hangover in the room – and a lot of commotion in politics.

NEOS state spokeswoman Indra Collini is stunned. The 54,000 euros is significantly more than the average annual salary for employees in the country. “While companies have been struggling for years to survive, the Chamber of Commerce celebrates exuberant parties with the mandatory contributions. The companies are not cash cows for room parties,” she murmurs.

Criticism also comes from the FPÖ. Business spokesman Reinhard Teufel calls for “complete clarification of this matter, which is unsurpassed in terms of shamelessness”.

“Here Was Exaggerated”
Thomas Schaden, one of the Vice-Presidents of the Chamber and Lower Austrian President of the Social Democratic Business Association, sees “nothing wrong”: “I was not involved in the planning of the celebration. This was clearly an exaggeration .”

Order to official
There are explosive details about the cost of the commemorative publication. As confirmed by the chamber, the contract worth EUR 18,600 was awarded to the company of an official of a trade association. “Price adequacy was checked as part of a direct award. The political attitude of the contractors is not decisive when awarding contracts”, it is clarified.
