Kyocera AVX has announced the closure of its production site in Salzburg, which will result in the layoff of approximately 70 employees.
Approximately 70 employees will lose their jobs as a result of the site closure. The PRO-GE union criticizes the decision as hasty and driven by profiteering. There was already a staff reduction in 2022, which was sold as a measure to secure the location.
The social plan is currently being negotiated with the works council, while the relocation of the machines will take place in the coming months. The union demands that no obstacles be placed in the way of employees and that the value of the location is recognized by the owners.
Kyocera AVX in Salzburg currently employs approximately 180 employees and specializes in the production of control units, electronic pumps and LED modules for the automotive industry.
