Becoming the bank’s headquarters – two months after the end: the demolition of the furniture store begins

Date:

On May 4, XXXLutz on Goethestrasse in Linz was closed for good as the furniture giant moved to a new location on the Danube. What will happen to the old company? It will be demolished! Starting Monday, the excavators will roll in to clear the space for the new headquarters of Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich.

When will construction begin on the new headquarters of Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich on Goethestrasse in Linz? Since the laying of cables began months ago and XXXLutz pulled the plug on the furniture store in early May because the trading giant from Wels was moving to the new location next to the railway bridge, questions have been piling up for RLB CEO Heinrich Schaller. He remained evasive and left it unclear whether the excavators would roll in this year or next.

Wooden construction fences were installed
But now the project is moving: the XXXLutz logo still hangs on the facade of the building, and next to it hangs a banner with information about the sale, which ran until closing time. The flags of the furniture retailer are still flying. For this purpose, wooden construction fences have been placed in recent days, behind which the garage entrance, ground floor and entrance disappeared.

And: Monday the demolition work on the empty furniture store begins. How long will this take? They say it will take four months. Means: At the end of the year the former trading company will be razed to the ground.

Start of construction not yet confirmed
It is not yet clear when construction of the RLB headquarters on the site will begin, but that will probably not be until next year.
