Concrete examples – anti-inflation packages: the Viennese get so much more

Date:

The federal government and the city of Vienna have put together packages against inflation. How much does everyone get in total from the two resources? We demonstrate this on the basis of three concrete examples.

The cash registers never sound sweeter. Not only the federal government presented its package against inflation this week, but also the city of Vienna. The so-called Viennese energy support is again being expanded – reported the “Krone”. In the fourth quarter, 130 million euros will be paid out as an energy bonus to 650,000 households in the federal capital.

Two-thirds of Viennese households should benefit from this
That’s up to 200 euros extra per household (if eligible) – as a perk, so to speak. After all, more than a million Viennese or two-thirds of households should benefit from the benefits.

A single mother with one child with the cost of living and energy subsidies from the federal government and the city will have an additional income in 2022 totaling 2,230 euros (see graph). Two adults with two children benefit from the “double assistance package” for a total of 2380 euros.

What is striking: The family of two of the single mother receives almost as much as the four-person household with the two children.

And then there is the minimum pensioner, who has to get by on a monthly pension of 1,020 euros. She will receive financial support of 1,700 euros. Mayor Michael Ludwig and alderman Peter Hanke (both SPÖ) do not rule out further support measures.
