It was already doing the rounds on Thursday evening, now it is official: the operator of the Dombar in the hotel on the Domplatz in Linz will file for bankruptcy on Friday. He took over the trendy downtown bar in 2018, but is now retiring for health reasons.
The timing just before Christmas trading “was not ideal,” the previous operator’s lawyer, Wolfgang Deutschmann, said in an interview with the Oberösterreichische Nachrichten.
But attempts to somehow get this done by the end of the year failed for health reasons.
According to the lawyer, the debts amount to around 80,000 euros. Five employees are affected by the bankruptcy. The restaurant has operated well in the past and has also benefited from events such as Klassik am Dom.
