Before Advent and Christmas, the imported Halloween festival also fills retailers’ coffers. According to a new study by the Styrian Chamber of Commerce, available to “Krone”, young and old spend an average of 30 euros on scary products and sweets, and 80 million euros are spent.
Sour spider legs, red blood syrup, bloody chocolate eyes: Halloween brings more and more candy to the Styrian economy. The spooky celebrations a day before All Saints’ Day give the retail sector a big boost with the sale of decorative items, costumes, sweets and pumpkins. The Styrian Chamber of Commerce took a closer look before the import festival and conducted a representative survey through the Institute for SME Research Austria.
