Due to the abolition of the electricity price ceiling and higher network rates, costs for households will increase by as much as 725 euros next year. Experts strongly recommend switching providers. This is the only way to absorb some of the price increase.
Households will face a sharp increase in energy costs next year. The reason: as of January 1, not only will network costs for electricity rise by an average of 23 percent (for gas by about 16 percent), the so-called electricity price brake will also be lifted. The latter ensured that 80 percent of average consumption was ‘capped’ at a price of 10 cents per kWh. So no matter how high your own rate was this year, the state paid between ten and a maximum of 25 cents per kWh.
