They were faithful companions for entire generations of households, but now it’s over – and faster than expected. As has now been announced, the Austrian Tupperware consultants can only accept orders until Sunday. You can order online until December 29, after which it’s over.
“You still have the opportunity to grab your favorite Tupperware products before they disappear forever. Take a look around and take advantage of the last ordering option until Sunday to do something good for yourself and your kitchen,” writes a Tyrolean Tupperware consultant on Facebook.
It’ll be over before Christmas
“In Austria it is only possible to order something until December 22, 2024,” writes another. Other Tupperware consultants also confirmed that they had already been told that they could only accept orders until Sunday. Some still have supplies, others will run out before Christmas. The online shop for Tupperware Austria and Germany should be open until December 29.
American subsidiary found lender, European business lost
Tupperware filed for bankruptcy in the US in mid-September, and the Austrian subsidiary finally closed in October. A continuation was initially planned, but while the American parent company was able to save itself from a permanent decline with new investors, the European company is being scrapped, at least for the time being.
The lenders that now own the US company said they want to focus on core markets including the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, China and other Asian countries. The European markets would play a minor role in the current restructuring.
No more party sales
The ‘Tupperware Party’ sales model is also a thing of the past. Instead, they want to focus on online trading and e-commerce platforms. The design of the plastic containers must also become more modern and sustainable.
