On the one hand, the best order standard of the past ten years, on the other hand, deep red figures: Seil -manufacturer Teufelberger experiences turbulent times, which now make the step for the Insolvenence Court that is needed for a division. For the area that produces plastic packaging tires, the Welser submits a renovation application. 186 employees are affected.
It is the youngest division, it is the smallest business area and has developed in recent months into the biggest problem child within the family business – now nothing has no choice but to register bankruptcy. This was announced by Florian Teufelberger, head of the rope manufacturer founded in 1790, on Tuesday afternoon to the affected employees of the area of the fixed solution. A renovation application will be submitted to the court on Thursday.
Full camp, sunken prices
The area in which the family business produces plastic packaging tires that are used to transport bricks, wood, cans, bottles and the like in recent months. The prices were the question, especially since the camps were still full for Corona.
“The market is currently suffering from overcapacity, there are too many producers, especially in Eastern Europe, in Turkey, in Italy and Germany,” says Teufelberger, who himself only took on a company in Poland almost two years ago. Incidentally, the 120 people who are employed there are not influenced by bankruptcy, while the 186 employees in the converted solution area, which are located in Teufelberger GmbH, now have to vibrate. Already resolved: you can no longer get your wages and salaries. They are the case for the Insolvency Ford Fund.
The question is increasing again
What is the following? Teufelberger wants to “put the business area back on a solid foundation”. The question has also increased since November, but the bankruptcy could no longer be averted. Should employees go in the course of the renovation? “We can’t say that nobody will hit it,” said the head of the family business, which has shrunk by 20 jobs in recent months, for example due to non -infections.
How did it generally work for Teufelberger? The financial year 2024/25, which ends on Friday, was “pretty challenging,” he reports. The turnover of around 300 million euros had remained stable. The areas of fiber and steel ropes went well, you have the highest order standard of the past ten years.
Teufelberger Steel Rouwen are installed in the “Camp Nou”
“In the field of steel ropes we have received the largest order in the history of the company in 2024,” says Teufelberger. These are the deliveries of steel ropes for the roof structure of a football stadium. The company may not give details, but it should be the “Camp Nou” stadium in Barcelona. 1400 people worldwide work throughout the Teufelberger Group.
