The world’s largest online retailer, Amazon, is responding to complaints from European consumer advocates and making it easier to cancel its Prime membership. Now only two clicks are needed, the European Commission announced on Friday.
In April last year, the European Consumers’ Association (BEUC) and other consumer advocates submitted their criticisms to the competition authority, stating that Prime users would have to overcome too many hurdles, such as complicated menu navigation and skewed names to cancel their subscription. That should now change immediately, at least in the European Union.
Prime is a paid subscription that offers users additional services and benefits, including free express delivery and streaming of movies and TV shows.
