The negotiations of the collective agreement are currently not successful for the bus drivers. The Vida trade union criticized on Thursday that employers would rely on a “red-white-red-red card with wage flow”. It was prevented that not even one percent of the steering wheel was busy with red and white -red cards.
The current range is 3.5 percent. That would match the rolling inflation, said industrial chairman Martin Horvath of the Austria Chamber of Commerce. The Vida Union, in turn, requires a wage increase of 3.7 percent and better working conditions. “It’s all about subtractions based on service pause, night work and auxiliary measures, so that the job can really be done on retirement,” says Susanne Haase, State Manager of the Vida Vienna Union.
“If all others are sleeping and free, then bus drivers and not getting enough compensation – family life also suffers,” Michael Krippner, himself, criticizes the driver and board council on the ÖBB PO Box. Bus drivers currently receive a night allowance for travel between midnight and 5 hours. The Vida Union calls for an extension of the period from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Haase also accused the employers to have the driving license training preferred via the Labor Market Service (AMS). “That is not at all true, that is the employee’s personal driver’s license,” said Horvath. The driving license is not bound by the employer. With regard to working conditions, he stated that a new regulation of the nocturnal surcharges had been offered for the period from 11 p.m. to 3 p.m., namely a surcharge of 50 percent. The admission period for newcomers has been increased by 45 percent in recent years
Test date on February 17
The KV -minimum wage is currently 2773 euros gross per month. Another statement of the trade union was that employers would put employees on employees with a red and white -red card to serve the dumping of wages. “Employers clearly prefer to trust blackmailers with red and white -red cards from outside the EU and wage deposit instead of making the industry more attractive,” said Yvonne Rychly, deputy chairman of Vida Vienna.
According to Horvath, not even one percent is currently busy with cards with red white red. This card can, for example, receive specialists from third countries in short professions. This makes limited access to the labor market in Austria possible.
The next negotiation date is planned for 17 February. “However, if a suitable package is placed on the negotiating table again, the employees are on February 20. Hold a first warning strike in 2025, “said Vida. About 12,000 people work for private bus companies in Austria.
