The sale breaks – bad reputation: Europeans no longer want Tesla

Date:

For the first time in the company’s history, the electric car manufacturer is in a violent crisis. The Tesla sales figures in Europe have shrunk almost half in the first two months of the year.

It is absolutely not a cotton play for Elon Musk (53). As if the recalling the hyped cyber truck was not bad enough for the proud entrepreneur, the loyalty of the Tesla fans are now disappearing.

As can be seen on Tuesday figures from the European ACEA Automaker Association, the company of the controversial US presidential adviser registered in January and February 2025 a decrease in new registrations by 49 percent. This corresponds to a number of 19,046 vehicles sold and a market share of 1.1 percent.

The car manufacturer had recently suffered serious damage to the US government due to the controversial role of Musk in the US government. Teslas were set on fire in the US and Europe and Tesla car dealers and charging stations were attacked.

Musk: “Feel like the Armageddon”
“When you read the news, it feels like the Armageddon,” the technical billionaire complained in a live stream that was previously transferred to X, formerly Twitter. “I can’t walk along the television without seeing a burning Tesla. What’s going on? Some people think: listen, I understand if you don’t want to buy our product, but you don’t have to burn. It is a bit unreasonable.”

However, there are also many more moderate protests. Some Tesla control programs use stickers with which they distance themselves from Musk. There are also numerous disruptions of institutions, companies and individuals from X.
