The Chinese government would have instructed airlines to stop buying Boeing machines. The aircraft parts and equipment of the American company are also affected, reported the Bloomberg Financial News Agency. Boeing has not yet confirmed the report.
The Chinese government also regards assistance for airlines that Boeing machines would have rented and now have higher costs due to customs duties with the US, Bloomberg reported. In fact, the three largest airline China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines-Wanted are to take over dozens of Boeing aircraft between 2025 and 2027.
China has surprisingly strong growth rates in the middle of the customs flict with the US. The provisional economic growth was 5.4 percent in the first quarter of 2025. Other economic data also exceeded the predictions. In March, retail sales rose by 5.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and an increase of approximately 4.3 percent was expected.
So the government defends itself
Nevertheless, the trade conflict with the United States will probably influence the second largest economy in the world. The effects are probably visible, especially in the second quarter of the year. In the meantime, special rates of 145 percent are due to the American border on goods from China. The Chinese government then decided to rates of 125 percent on American products.
Moreover, the export of critical raw materials was limited, which are important for numerous manufacturers such as car manufacturers and semiconductor producers. The post in Hong Kong does not want to accept goods with the purpose of the US. For China, the trade conflict comes at a time when it is even struggling with problems in Germany. Among them are a weak question, pressure from falling consumer prices and a real estate crisis.
Dealing with the rest of the world?
The Chamber of Commerce of the European Union in China sees the Chinese government the opportunity to show itself as a stable and reliable trading partner under the turbulence of Trump’s trade policy. Parent President Jens Eskelund, however, asked Beijing to reconsider how the rest of the world was.
