The production at KTM in Mattighofen has been quiet since Monday and will not be raised again before the end of July – the stop due to delivery problems in the material also has consequences for suppliers. AMS-Oö Baas Iris Schmidt locates “Great Nervosity”.
What is the following with KTM? This question concerns not only the people in Mattighofen, but also many outside. The fact that in the struggle for the rescue of the motorcycle manufacturer, which is hidden in the bankruptcy, still has no clarity about who finances the 600 million euros for the 30 percent rate for the creditors. Especially since the deadline will come up soon.
On 23 May the money must be in the account of KTM-AG Sepperageler Peter Vogl. That means: there is less than three weeks left to set up this amount.
The still inexplicable future of motorcycle manufacturers KTM also influences the labor market in the region – especially in the Braunau district, the uncertainty is reflected. “The nervousness among KTM suppliers is great,” says Iris Schmidt, director of the Oberösterreich Labor Market Service.
The fact that production in Mattighofen is still standing still since Monday to the end of July increases the nerve flutter. Alternatives with regard to customers are being investigated. “The question is how far you can compensate for something,” said the AMS-Oö Boss.
The stuffed insolvency foundations “experience more and more requirement in the region,” Schmidt explains: “More and more people are opening there they want to orient themselves differently.” The voluntary willingness to change must be delayed: “The other companies do not have the big question either.”
