How to reduce the fourteen long months it takes to find a job?

Date:

Outplacement programs shorten the search to four months and 67% of candidates match or improve their salary

Hispanic unemployed take 14 months to find a job, according to the Active Population Survey (EPA) average. A long, very long time that becomes eternal and that diminishes the self-esteem and confidence of the workers.

But it is possible to shorten this period even to less than a third. People who make use of an outplacement program – guidance programs for professionals who are forced to leave their company – have already found a new job in just 4.2 months, a record time that has been shortened in recent years. Even 31% of candidates — who average between 25 and 35 hours a week and get six nos for the yes — need less than three months, according to data collected by ManpowerGroup for the year 2021.

“We speed up the process because the candidate is not just looking for a job, we guide them through directly searching the market, talking to companies, knowing what they need, seizing employment opportunities,” said Orestes Wensell, director Talent Solutions Right Management commercial.

These programs assign each person a consultant, who individually guides and advises them to effectively manage their transition and accelerate their entry into the market. They learn to improve their personal and digital brand, to manage their network of contacts, to achieve optimal preparation for interviews, to guide their employability…

This allows 85% of candidates to match or improve on the position they held and 67% match or exceed their previous salary. In addition, 85% receive a long-term contract.

The typical profile of the employee taking advantage of the outplacement programs is a professional of approximately 46 years of age, with an average tenure in their last position of 10 years and professional experience of approximately 22 years in a middle management position. Overall, they have had no change in their professional career in the past seven years and it is the first time they have used an outplacement program (87%).
