“We assume that collecting costs for the EU budget can make around three billion euros,” said Sefcovic. Commercial Commissioner Sefcovic expects the number of packages from countries outside the EU. “Last year 4.6 billion packages were introduced in the European Union,” he said in the European Parliament on Tuesday. “All songs of recent years we looked at confirmed the upward trend.”
Ongoing research
Investigations are currently investigating against Shein and Temu in Brussels due to possible violations of EU laws in the field of consumer protection and the rules for online platforms. In February, the Consumer Protection Authorities announced, among other things, a sharper approach to Shein. A procedure of the EU committee is already underway against Temu.
