The Dutch Food and Product Safety Authority (NVWA) said on Thursday to various people, including children, were health problems. It was only discovered in three bags of “Happy Cola F! ZZ” Cannabis, but as a precaution a full recall was arranged.
Dutch police investigated
“They are bags with sweets in circulation that can cause health problems such as dizziness when they are consumed,” said the NVWA. “Cannabis was found in the cola bottles in question,” said a spokeswoman for the AFP press agency with a view to the form of the popular fruit gum. The police are now investigating how the cannabis came into the fruit gum.
Company speaks of “serious incident”
The candy producer spoke about a “serious” incident. “The security of our consumers is a top priority for us,” said Marketing Vice Tax. At the same time, he pointed out that it was only “a limited number of cases”. Haribo works closely with the police to clarify the cause of the “contamination”.
