Nothing for pentulers! – Beautiful life in a former Canner -Factory

Date:

In Austria, more and more old factory halls are empty. Several are mentioned. But that doesn’t mean you have to reveal it. In Bruckneudorf, Burgenland, a mega project will soon be implemented that sets new standards in terms of sustainability.

In 1896, in the Burgenland-Lower-Oostrijk border of the Bruckneudorf municipality, started the establishment of a Kuk Conservation and Pea Peeler Factory, which later served to deliver the military camp and did not remain used for a long time. In 2017, the Oberwarter Settlement Cooperative (OSG) acquired the four hectares, the listed area and the very first primary school opened three years ago after years of renovation and renovation work: the “pea”. In addition to the event room for the community and a branch of the Neusiedl Am See Music School, which are also housed in the BouwSemble, it is the heart of a new district, which must now be extended to a new pulsating quarter.

New restaurant will be locked up soon
At the beginning of July, Franz Krakhofer will use the “The Beaous” restaurant that was set up in one of the historic buildings. Primary school, kindergarten and cradle are then cooked every day and provided with fresh food. At the same time, ecologically thought – from and affordable living space on the site is made. The construction of 20 rows of houses has already been completed and another ten are under construction.

But that’s not all! In order to cover the different residential needs of the locals and add-ups, the OSG wants to set further milestones on the site and implement a mega project in different construction phases from the late summer. A total of 221 high -quality apartments must be built – spread over six components. “For the upcoming construction phases, the stairs 3, 4 and 5-all 56 apartments have already been awarded,” says Osg boss Alfred Kollar.

Lofts with a view to Vienna
The so-called “Si-Lofts”, which are built in and around the old two old 62 meter high grain silot towers in the middle of the area, form an architectural accent. 66 apartments and a business building will be created and the urban appearance of the general project will form considerably. A special highlight is the publicly accessible Skybar on one of the two silo roofs. Nine business spaces for shops, cafés etc. are also planned in the center.

Huge investment
With the future-oriented concept of living and life, Kollar wants to cause a sensation throughout Austria and prove that a listed area that has been used industrially for decades can also revitalize and flourish as a vibrant place of meeting- with a special focus on sustainability and quality of life.

“Even today, the area is considered a flagship project for environmentally conscious construction and responsible use of land. The careful conversion of the historical matter plays a central role in this and shows how well -thought -thinked architecture and sensitive planning make a new form of local development possible. Our model will have a look for the whole of Austria.” The project must be completed by 2029. According to Kollar, the total investment volume is between 90 and 95 million euros.
