Send letters to all regional presidents so that they deduct an extra 20 cents per liter from those who earn less than 20,000 euros a year
The support of 20 cents per liter of fuel is not enough for the self-employed, especially not for people with a low income. That’s how UPTA denounces it. which requires the Autonomous Communities to give a discount to those with an income of less than 20,000 euros per year with an additional discount of 20 cents.
To do so, the organization sent letters this morning to all regional presidents asking for their “commitment to this serious problem.” “It is unacceptable for them to be re-profiled in light of the dramatic situation facing thousands of self-employed workers, who are most affected by the unprecedented rise in fuel prices,” they explain in the letter.
The special tax on hydrocarbons is a tax that is transferred to the autonomous communities of the common regime in a percentage of 58% of what is collected, so, for example, according to the general state budget law for 2022, Andalusia corresponds to 1,411.25 million euros during this year .
«It is the autonomous communities that really benefit from the increase in fuel prices, they are the ones who must and must put their shoulders to the wheel so that our group can receive an extra bonus in addition to that of the state, since for every liter of petrol or diesel a gas station is sold, for example if it is produced in Andalusia, the Andalusian government drops almost 60 cents’, criticizes Eduardo Abad, president of UPTA, stating that we are not asking for “something that is not absolutely fair”, since the self-employed ” are the main consumers and those affected”.
“It is imperative that the Autonomous Communities, with the more than 7,000 million euros collected for this concept, make a small effort to save the situation of thousands of self-employed in our country,” he concludes.
