Grazer Andritz AG is 173 years old. And it took 173 years before a woman first moved to the Giant industry. On January 1, the German manager Vanessa Hellwing broke this glass ceiling: as a financial director she is available to the group with 30,000 employees in 80 countries. “I was not even aware of the importance for women here and for the company,” says Hellwing in an interview with the “Krone”. “I don’t like to stand on stage and present myself. But visibility is important for cultural change because it gives courage and motivation.”
