The event celebrates its second edition in El Batel, with experts in different disciplines who will show new opportunities
In Cartagena, culture is a source of wealth. The past is based on it, it builds the present and projects a future where the artistic and cultural fabric is key to seeking opportunities that keep the port city moving forward and growing. And in this common goal all disciplines and styles fit. Cultural professionals have shown they can grow despite adversity, especially after a pandemic that crippled their activity and required solid and collaborative solutions for a vital sector. In this context, the ‘Cultural UP’ was born, a forum designed to analyze the current situation of the cultural sector in Cartagena, which celebrates its second edition this Thursday.
The Auditorium and the Palacio de Congresos El Batel, together with the LA VERDAD newspaper, and sponsored by Emasa and Cartagena Parque, will bring together some of the promoters and protagonists of urban culture in El Batel, on the 15th from 5:30 p.m. to make progress in that common goal around culture and continue to analyze the news of this field of activity to exchange opinions and look for new opportunities. The event, which will be moderated by the representative of LA VERDAD in Cartagena, Gregorio Mármol, will have a conversational format to bring attendees closer to the different cultural styles that coexist today.
For example, the forum will be attended by the manager of the El Batel Auditorium and Conference Center, Ana Pardo Sánchez; the visual artist Pedro Diego Pérez Casanova; the ‘street artist’ Art Mateo; the writer Mireya Encinas; the writer, poet, translator and professor of modern languages at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Natalia Carbajosa; the singer Bartolomé Sánchez Estrella (Tolo Ortógrafo); the trovero Juan Diego Celdrán Madrid, member of the José María Martín Trovera Association, and the president of the Regional Bobbin Lace Museum, Agustina Moreno Marín.
Registration is free and can be done on the web eventos.laverdad.es.
