Fourteen albums from 2022 in regional key

Date:

We discuss a series of LPs signed this year by artists and groups from the Murcia region that, based on different genres of music, have captivated us with special power and emotion.

Unveil the mystery: ‘Three nights without sleep’. There you have the title hidden behind the initials of Franvvi’s first album, a debut on which the man from Cartagena pays a hectic tribute to early mornings without epilogues, endless summers, hangover trips and, above all, nocturnal pop/rock. the 1990s and the beginning of the 21st century.

There are debuts that resonate with the mature and undeniable power of experience. First hits that hit the center of the target. Barrages of inspiration that will leave you completely knocked out. And ‘Roca roja’, premiered by Carmen Alarcón under the stage name Hoonine, is one of them. Gem from start to finish.

Rafa Val, Alberto Cantúa, Jess Fabric and Fernando Campillo have thrown the coin in the air and the brightest faces have emerged. ‘El amor de la clase que sea’ is his most direct, warm and welcoming album to date. A comforting hug in the form of eleven great songs that have stuck.

All expectations were exceeded from the moment we heard ‘Ya se me pasa’, Daniel Sabater’s first LP. And it is that, despite the fact that he had already shown his talent, the young Murcian surprises with a debut in which every element gives the maximum of its potential. Five stars.

Serious contender for National Pop Record of the Year, ‘Mares little depths’ is yet another gift from Antonio Galvañ, i.e. Parade, for those of us who love melody above all else. An authentic delight crowned with ‘Past, Present, Future’, the pinnacle of a simply essential artist.

Alongside one of the best songs of the year, the impressive ‘When I was young’, this first LP from Al Dual is a true monument to rock and roll with vintage flavor and contemporary energy. Music from (and before) your life that falls in love with its melodies, guitars and tons of elegance.

Guille Solano does not stand still. And better this way. After the remarkable ‘Pretend to fly’ and ‘Horoscope’, the young man from Cartagena will have delivered his most complete work to date in 2022: ‘Things are things’. A seamless album that dances with an admirable balance between the sharp punk outburst and the purest melodic emotion.

It is a third solo album, yes, but also the umpteenth confirmation of Fernando Rubio from Cartagena as a classic with a present echo and immaculate validity. ’20th Century’, as is the case with works destined to last, holds quite a few surprises with every listen. And fall in love from the first meeting.

Listening to Carey’s debut, the new project from the incombustible (and brilliant) Aarón Saéz and Antonio Turro, is like opening a window overlooking the sea and letting yourself be carried away by the most beautiful breeze. Whether dressed in rumba, pop, flamenco, jazz or tango, ‘Estamos hablando de tigres’ is an exciting and passionate diamond.

The exact word at the right time and in the most poignant way spoken by the weirdo Laura Sam. The electronic and imaginative beat driven by Juan Escribano’s bass. More than a record, ‘La voz en contra’ is an experience of ink and roar.

Twelve songs that embrace and move. Twelve tracks that are both trench and station. Twelve songs that nestle you in his lap and heal wounds. Twelve immortal songs from birth. Twelve songs with which Nacho Para has built a resounding masterpiece.

After more than twenty years of exemplary career, Second will say goodbye next year with a tour in which, in addition to celebrating the most famous songs from his repertoire, he will also present the songs from ‘Impossible Flowers’ live. One last album, it’s hard to write, ranks as one of the most brilliant of his career.

Navigating the waves of new pop with enviable skill, Walls has managed to consolidate his position within both the regional and national scene with his debut ‘Los niños del parque’. A work that invites constant enjoyment, incessant humming and the discharge of rhythmic power. Attitude, honesty and great themes.

The brilliant start with ‘Spiral’. The winning chorus of ‘Inertia’. The melody of ‘The Rain’. The delicacy of ‘The days’. The nostalgia of ‘Under the table’. The calm epic of ‘Las esquinas’. The guitar work of ‘Sentimental’. The beauty of ‘El tango’. The perfect ending with ‘TEDM’. Yarea: from promise to harsh reality.
