Euro fan favorites qualify for the second semi-final, in which Chanel showed part of her show
Chanel knows all her rivals for the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. The Pala Alpitour in Turin experienced the second semifinal this Thursday with the classification of favorites such as Sweden’s Cornelia Jakobs with her ‘Hold Me Closer’, the Serbian Konstrakta (‘ In Corpore Sano’) or the Czechs We Are Domi, who made all the spectators dance with the ‘Lights Off’ that concluded the gala.
Among the surprises are the eliminations of San Marino with its rocker “Stripper” by Achille Lauro of Ireland (represented by Brooke and “That’s Rich”). Belgium, Azerbaijan, Poland, Finland, Estonia, Australia and Romania also qualified. On Tuesday, Ukraine (the big favorite of the game), Norway, Greece, Switzerland, Armenia, Iceland, Lithuania, Portugal, Moldova and the Netherlands already qualified.
The cut of this second semi-final showed that the euro fans wanted more diverse proposals than last Tuesday’s, where ballads predominated, which were also included in this semi-final. There are the works of the great Sheldon Riley and his ‘Not The Same’ (watch out for Australia on Saturdays), the opera pop of Poland’s Ochman (‘River’) or the song of Jakobs aiming to win the seventh highest award. Stockholm and thus tied for first place in history with Ireland.
Together with these artists there was the show (what a presence) of the Georgian Circus Mircus (‘Lock Me In’), the classic rock of The Rasmus with ‘Jezebel’, the Latin show in English and Spanish of the Romanian WRS and their ‘Llámame’ or the peculiar representation of Konstrakta. The Balkan artist washes her hands in a basin as she sings about the health problems of artists and the shortcomings of public health systems.
In addition to these hopeful people, Chanel showed part of her show. The Spanish rep was nervous while chatting with Laura Pausini, who didn’t hesitate to lend her a hand when Chanel started messing with the English. Those nerves must have dissipated and turned to withheld joy when he saw the amazing response from the Piedmont site. ‘SloMo’ liked it. We’ll see what happens on Saturday from 9 p.m.
