Yesterday, the Pedro Cano de Blanca Foundation hosted the presentation of the 1st Valley Music Festival to be held from July 9 to 24. The Festival was created with the aim of showing different corners of the municipality with a different approach than usual. In particular, music will accompany nature, gastronomy, dance, film and painting in various free activities.

Artistic director of the festival, Víctor Cano, announced the program yesterday. The opening will be performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia. The concert, directed by Virginia Martínez, will take place on Saturday, July 9 at 10 p.m. in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, and the repertoire is based on film soundtracks.

On Tuesday 19, at 7:30 PM, a hiking trail led by the Blanca Hikers Association begins, with visits to the river, the orchard and the Hermitage of San Roque. In that room, the concert by cellist Gonzalo Meseguer will take place at 10 p.m., with a program that includes two of Bach’s famous ‘suites’.

On July 20, an activity is scheduled to unite music and painting with an exhibition of music-inspired paintings performed by the Urci string and clarinet quintet. It’s 10pm at the Idol Center. The activity was carried out in collaboration with Asokultura.

A lyrical concert will be held in the gardens of Casa del Conde on Thursday, 21 at 9:00 PM, which will consist of duets and opera arias. The Granada-born pianist José Ángel Onieva, the Murcian soprano Consuelo Garres and the baritone David Mancebón will delight the audience. After the concert, at 22:00, a dinner pairing will be offered by Taúlla’s chef, Rodi Fernández, and sommelier Alejandro Ramos.

The music continues with the Ricote Valley Symphony Orchestra (Osvar) conducted by Víctor Cano, which will make its official presentation at the Plaza de la Iglesia on Sunday 24 hours at 10 p.m. A concert that concludes the 1st Music Festival in the Valley.

The award ceremony was also attended by the Mayor of Blanca, Pedro Luis Molina; the director of the Murcia Region Symphony Orchestra, Virginia Martínez, and the painter Pedro Cano.
