Lisa Dorian’s family has launched a fundraising appeal for a financial reward after years of grief

Date:

Lisa Dorian died on February 28, 2005, after partying in a caravan in Ballihalbert.

The family of murdered Bangor lady, Lisa Dorian, has launched a new campaign for a reward for information leading to the recovery of her remains.

The 25-year-old writer was last seen alive on February 28, 2005, at a trailer park in Ballyhalbert, and police believe he was murdered after a party in that area.

No one has been charged with his death and his body has not been found.

More than 17 years after her sister’s disappearance and more than 400 police searches, Joan Dorian is asking friends, family, communities and supporters to help her find Lisa to win the prize.

Earlier this week, Dorian’s family launched a Go FundMe page for 30.30.000 and said the amount would only be paid if it resulted in Lisa’s recovery.

with his picture Wonderful sister, Joanne wrote:

Lisa was murdered in 2005 in Ballyhalbert, Northern Ireland, and a killer hid her body. Lisa has been missing for over 17 years and after more than 400 police searches, we have not been able to find her.

“We’ve campaigned for 17 years to find Lisa and get justice, but we haven’t been able to get there… Today we are asking our friends, family, community and supporters to help us raise Lisa’s profile.

“This award will only be given to someone if it results in the recovery of Lisa’s body, because that is our highest priority.”

Joanne added: “We believe that someone other than the killer knows where Lisa is now and can help us. If money is our only obstacle, please support this bounty fund as much as possible. Every pound has helped us with the amount.”

Joan also believes that Lisa’s disappearance led to the death of her mother, Pete, nearly seven years ago.

“Our mother passed away of a broken heart in 2015 after Lisa lost her first daughter and we want them to rest together. We need to find Lisa and this award is the next step in our campaign to try to do that.

“We are, so we support the community and the local community and we thank each of you for your love and support over the years, but we need something else from you. Please help us in any way you can. Reward us for finding Lisa’s body.

Please find out more or contact me on Twitter or Facebook at @letsfindlisa.

“If you have any other questions please contact me and I will be happy to answer. We would not like any financial support, but money can be the key to finding Lisa and if everyone can donate a small amount. The difference is in our campaign.

“Thank you for reading and taking care of our sister Lisa. We can contact you confidentially via www.lisadorrian.co.uk. I will update you here as soon as things move forward.”

Joan Dorian in May, searching for his sister, Lisa

Lisa’s murder was recently featured in the BBC’s four-part documentary series “Murder in a Bad Country” about the brutal murders of four women.

The family was devastated after PSNI confirmed that new research into his disappearance last summer had found no evidence.

PSNI’s principal investigation team conducted a search for mud pits at Ballyhalbert for most of May 2021.

Professional divers have engaged in an extensive search for small lakes near Caravan Park, where Mrs. Dorian was last seen alive.

It involved the same team that found the remains of Pat McCormick, 55, a murder victim at a lake in Baligovan two years ago.

The area has previously been hit by raids, including at a disused airport in 2019.
