The Basque government is celebrating Tuesday 21 September act of remembrance and recognition to all victims of covid-19, announced by the Lehendakari during the Permanent Council in May.
The epidemiological situation caused by the pandemic has forced the organization of an event of very small size, according to the management of Iñigo urkullu. However, the Basque government will promote an action with a wider social presence to pay tribute to the victims when the health situation allows and there are no capacity constraints.
This Monday’s act aims to: think of the victimsexpress their solidarity with all families and with all those people who have not been able to say goodbye to their loved ones as they would have liked.
The act led by the lehendakari will take place at 12:00 in Sequoia Park (next to Urkide College) in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
In addition to the councilors of the Basque government, the general deputies, the mayors of the three capitals, as well as the main representatives of the Basque institutions, Eudel, Ararteko, political parties and the judiciary will be present.
The event is held around a sequoia planted in memory of all the victims and a memorial plaque. The event includes a short piece of music and a speech by the Lehendakari.
