The management of EH Bildu has introduced the parliamentarian Maddalen Iriarte as candidate for general deputy of Gipuzkoa for the 2023 regional and municipal elections, the spokesman for EH Bildu in the Basque parliament told Naiz.info. The pro-independence leftist bases will now have to ratify the candidacy.
In it, Iriarte acknowledges that after talking to his partner, children and family, he has accepted the proposal of EH Bildu from Gipuzkoa and will present his candidacy.
In the rest of the Territories, EH Bildu’s candidatures for general deputy will be led by Iker Casanova, in the case of Bizkaia, and by Eva López de Arroyabe, in Álava.
On the other hand, it was announced last week that EH Bildu will propose its bases that: Juan Carlos Izagirre be the candidate for mayor of Donostia-San Sebastián. The political table of EH Bildu in the capital of Donostia is recovering as well mayoral candidate to the former mayor of San Sebastián, who currently acts as spokesman in the Gipuzkoa General Assemblies.
