The connection of the PNV in San Sebastian has “unanimous support” for Eneko Goia to run for mayor of the city and elect to run for office, after no alternate candidacy has been submitted.
In a statement, the PNV announced that it would first phase of the internal process to appoint his leader for the next municipal elections in 2023. The current mayor of San Sebastian, Eneko Goia, will stand for re-election after receiving the full support of the members of the five batzokis of Donostia/San Sebastián (former, Center , Gros, Altza and Amara).
The Gipuzko Buru Batzar of the EAJ-PNV and the city councils of the five batzokis in the city decided a few weeks ago to propose to the affiliate that Eneko Goia is the candidate jeltzale to the office of the mayor of San Sebastian.
As emphasized by the PNV, the work of Goia and its municipal group has over the past legislature, in which, in addition to tackling the pandemic caused by covid, “started to draw the general lines of Donostia in the coming years, has received the support of the entire membership that has not submitted an alternative candidacy”.
After the first phase, the current mayor and re-election candidate Eneko Goia, the presidents, as well as several representatives of the various municipal organizations held a first meeting to start signing the strategic lines for the future of the city. A future that, in the words of Goia, will be built “by all, to continue to make Donostia an attractive and prosperous city”.
