A judge suspends stamp issuance as a precautionary measure at the request of the Christian Lawyers Association, the same association that sued Willy Toledo for “shitting on God and the Virgin”
After 48 hours of controversy on Twitter as well as from Critical voices from PP, Vox and Ciudadanosa court in Madrid yesterday Saturday cautiously suspended the issuance of Stamp that commemorates the centenary of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) that was set to go on sale this Monday. An edition of 135,000 copies had been prepared, which would cost 0.75 euros each.
The Union Christian lawyers He filed a lawsuit for the suspension, which was upheld. This association is the same one that in 2014 denounced “the pussy parade” in Seville “for religious offense” and later the actor Willie Toledo “for shitting on God and the Virgo“.
The association denounced the issuance of the stamp as “unacceptable” for government services to be used to “promote an ideology”.
Hours after the strike, the far-right syndicate Clean hands submitted to the courts of Madrid complaint against the president of CorreosJuan Manuel Serrano, is to be investigated for an alleged crime of subterfuge.
Criticism and defense
Before the court decisions, the senator of the PP, Raphael Hernando, had demanded the withdrawal because “Communism, Nazism and Fascism are totalitarian ideologies that have been condemned by the European Parliament and have claimed millions of deaths”. An argument to which they added citizens and Vox, who suggested alternatively “that the stamp commemorates the 86th anniversary of the Paracuellos massacre”.
On the other hand, leftist politicians like Alberto Garzon (Onions Yolanda Diaz (United We Can) or Gabriel Ruffian (ERC) has denounced the legal action and has defended that the PCE was “the indispensable father of democracy and the Spanish Constitution”. Also Pablo Iglesias (United We Can) and the former minister balos (PSOE) recalled the trajectory of the PCE:
An ultra association asks that no tribute stamp be issued to a legal party that was the father -indispensable- of democracy and the Spanish constitution and a judge approves precautionary measures to suspend the launch. Embarrassing and symptomatic. https://t.co/CQPevM34EO

The cautious suspension of the commemoration of those who fought for freedom in our country is alarming.
We must acknowledge the collective memory of all those who fought to make our country a constitutional democracy.https://t.co/1hczc8l9S0

Don’t go retweeting this PCE stamp that a judge has vetoed at the request of Christian Lawyers. pic.twitter.com/s5XGPQqIP5

We have long said that one of the spearheads of the reactionary anti-democracy movement is judicial law. Kidnapping the PCE’s seal is yet another provocation. Meanwhile, the progressive media craves bipartisanism and a left that disturbs little

1977. The legalization of @elpce it will be a key moment of the Transition. I wish those who criticize our democracy had fought for some of what the PCE has fought for.
Then they talk about the value of the constitution, stigmatizing a protagonist of it all. https://t.co/cP9KqBeq34 pic.twitter.com/k8j1ZKLyGR

On behalf of all members of @elpce, the one who was and the one who is, thank you very much, comrade, for this recognition of so many people who fought so that there is democracy today. https://t.co/TDorQmJZ6w
