The National Court dismisses the case against the pastor of Lemoa for glorifying ETA

The Bizkaia Priests Forum has asked the current bishop of Bilbao Joseba Segura and his predecessor Mario Iceta to publicly apologize for removing his office.

The National Court has considered that the statements made in 2020 by the then pastor of Lemoa (Bizkaia) in a documentary on ETA did not attempt to elevate terrorism and decided to close the lawsuit filed against him by the Dignity and Justice Association (DyJ).

As reported by the Bizkaia Priests Forum, an AN order dated November 8 has decided to end the trial of that priest and for this reason they have asked the current Bishop of Bilbao Joseba Segura, and his predecessor Mario Iceta, to publicly apologize for pushing him away your exercise.

In October 2020, Dignity and justice filed a complaint against Mikel Azpeitia, pastor of that congregation in Vizcaya, because he believed that his statements in the documentary “Bajo el silencio” justified ETA’s terrorism and humiliated its victims.
