Thanks to the system of proportional representation, the SPÖ more or less rules in Lower Austria, despite the black-blue collective agreement. The lack of agreement with the SPÖ must now almost be made up for by those who are not actually responsible for their bosses’ negotiating skills – namely the employees in government offices. Apparently they just missed unemployment.
The times of political cooperation are over – since almost exactly Thursday a week ago. Just a few hours after Johanna Mikl-Leitner was re-elected state governor in the state parliament, two employees of SPÖ government offices received an email from the state. As the “Krone” has learned, they were informed in the letter on Thursday evening about the end of their employment on Friday. “The other employees in the offices only received the mail on Friday, so on the day on which their employment would actually have ended,” says the SPÖ.
