This cabinet will also be characterized by transparency.’ Kaiser mentioned prosperity as the basis for making people grow old. “That is why we need to provide more certainty in terms of elderly care and supply,” said the governor.

Kaiser: ‘Sustainability as a yardstick for the government’
Kaiser mentioned the United Nations’ 17 sustainability goals in particular: “We have these SDG goals in the government program and will align our work accordingly. Any measure this government takes should be measured against that.” And he sees the Koralm tunnel as a great opportunity for Carinthia: “We must seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that the Baltic-Adriatic axis offers us. This is an economic area with more than 1.1 million people and potentially 500,000 employees.” He was also committed to preserving Klagenfurt Airport. Non-coalition spaces are only intended within the framework of European and federal politics.

Gruber: “Center of life in the heart of Europe”
Deputy Governor Martin Gruber also emphasized the sustainability of the new government: “That is the central theme of our program. And we want to make Carinthia a place to live for people.” Gruber emphasized that a separate settlement office should be set up to combat the labor shortage: “Carinthia must be in the heart of Europe not only geographically but also economically.” He emphasized that the countryside and the city are not played off against each other, but grow together.

Focus on transport and energy transition
He mentioned a modern transport concept and the energy transition as spearheads of the national programme. “The energy master plan is being revised and a modern energy mix is ​​being pushed. This means a clear commitment to solar, wind and bio energy, but also to appropriate spatial planning. Agriculture will also play an important role, not just with biomass.”

Gruber specifically mentioned the timber industry: “Wood should be a subject from school to work. We want to increase and maintain self-sufficiency in agriculture and forestry, because they are part of the solution and not the problem in terms of sustainability.” He concluded by mentioning his optimistic outlook for the next five years. year: “Carinthia not only has a great past, but also a great future!”

Topics such as spatial planning, energy transition, but also the Slovene minority in Carinthia were discussed. The distribution of the presentations has yet to be decided. In the questions, the good cooperation of recent years was repeatedly emphasized. “We may be two parties with different values, but that is not an obstacle.
