A Supreme National Court ruling forces Joxi Zabala’s mother to pay the costs of an appeal filed with the Constitutional Court. For example, Felipa Artano Sagastume, 91, has to take on the payment of 9,252.06 euros for costs.

Joxi Zabala was kidnapped, tortured and murdered by the GAL in 1983.

The Constitutional Court has confirmed that the Zabala family has not received the additional compensation provided for in the Victims of Terrorism Act. The family appealed the decision, claiming that Joxi Zabala was never proven to be a member of ETA.

The national court dismissed the appeal and ordered Felipa Artano Sagastume to pay the costs of the proceedings.
