Politicians reveal: – “Prices are also felt on holidays”

Date:

“Holiday summit” in Carinthia, vacation on the CopaBeach, three weeks in Hamburg – where do Vienna’s top politicians travel in times of climate crisis and inflation? We know. Only one does not reveal it.

No long journeys by plane, for the sake of the environment. No expensive holidays abroad for the sake of your wallet. But how do Viennese politicians see it this year? We asked everyone:

Mayor Michael Ludwig (SPÖ) – from his office it says: “The mayor always likes to go on holiday in Austria. So again this year. He is on holiday in Carinthia for five days. And four days in the Mühlviertel in Upper Austria.”

Deputy Mayor Christoph Wiederkehr (Neos): “He is going on vacation for ten days, five days in the Dolomites and five days in Italy by the sea.” Prices have risen in almost all sectors.” And he also saves. How? Answer: “Because the holidays are also quite short.”

Dominik Nepp (FPÖ): Like every year, he will spend his holidays in Carinthia and Jesolo. A special childhood memory is ‘catching red crabs’. He already did that with his father and now he does it with his children.”

Karl Mahrer (ÖVP): “I spend my days off in the summer between Vienna, Burgenland, Carinthia and Jesolo.”

Peter Kraus (Greens): “In August I will take the train to Hamburg and stay there for three weeks.” Where he plays in a theater production.

One is silent
Carinthia is also popular with councilor Ulli Sima (SPÖ), who otherwise likes to stay in Vienna and vacation at CopaBeach. For city councilor Veronica Kaup-Hasler: “This year we are going to the island of Hvar in Croatia”. Speaking of savings: a trip to Cuba that was planned before Corona will not be made up. Only Peter Hacker does not want to say anything about it: “Private matter.”
