Carmen Esain Moreno and Francisco Martínez Nicolás, numbers 5 and 6 of the regionalist candidacy, replace them in office. In Saturday’s plenary session, three of the four UPN councilors voted for the EH Bildu candidate, who already had a guaranteed majority with his own seven councillors.
The head of the UPN list in Puente la Reina (Navarra), Yolanda TejeroAnd Carmen Sotowho was listed as number four in the regionalist candidacy, resigned as councilors this Monday after voting for the mayoral candidate for EH Bildu during Saturday’s constitutional session.
Following this resignation, the regionalist formation has announced that they will be replaced as regionalist mayors by Carmen Esain Moreno and Francisco Martínez Nicolás, who were in positions 5 and 6 on the list presented by UPN in the last election.
Likewise, UPN has indicated that it will send a message to Alberto Aceldegui Apesteguiathe other councilor who voted for EH Bildu for the mayor’s office, to demand that he hand over the councilman’s minutes.
In this way, pending Aceldegui’s decision, the regionalist municipal group would consist of Axel Cárdenas Roldán, Carmen Esain and Francisco Martínez.
In the plenary session on Saturday, three of the four UPN councilors in Puente la Reina voted for the EH Bildu candidate, who already had a guaranteed majority with his own seven councillors. For example, Itziar Imaz was appointed mayor with an absolute majority, with 10 votes in favour: the seven of her group and those of three UPN council members.
