The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchezhas assured that it is “clear that there is a communication security failure” of the Executive, for which “law has been complied with, criminal offenses brought to justice and acted with transparency”.
In response to a parliamentary question from the PP spokesperson, Cuca Gamarraover the resignation of the director of the CNI, Sánchez has attacked the People’s Party to ensure that his government “will not use public funds, the state security forces and bodies and the intelligence services to cover up criminal acts and prosecute political opponents out of law”.
The “popular” spokeswoman said in her question that Paz Esteban’s resignation as head of the CNI shows that “the Independentistas rule” as the partners asked him for “a scapegoat” that Sanchez has “docilely complied with”. According to Gamarra, Sánchez needed to “know” what the CNI’s actions consisted of, because it is the president who “signs” the orders and is informed.
