As EITB Media has learned, Koldo Otxandiano, convicted of the corruption plot related to ex-denominational PNV charges, entered Álava Prison this afternoon.
Otxandian Koldoconvicted to seven years in prison The De Miguel case, the largest political corruption plot linked to former PNV charges, entered the Araba Penitentiary Center this afternoon, after receiving the court order this week.
Section 2 of the Provincial Court of Álava on Monday a Within three days Otxandiano and the director convicted of the plot of illegal commissions, Michael Alfredo (12 years’ imprisonment), to enter prison voluntarily. If they don’t, the judge said he will issue “proper orders” to state security forces and organs to arrest and eventually detain them.
Last June, the Álava court refused to suspend De Miguel’s entry while the petition for clemency was pending. The court assured that he must serve his 12-year prison sentence “without delay”.
Former Director of Youth of the Basque Government Xabier Sánchez Robles, sentenced to more than seven years in prison for corruption crimes, was the first of those convicted in this case to go to prison on May 17.
